There are ten marmaid sisters and they live by the island of Anthemoessa. They have always wanted to fall in love with a human man. Well three ships come and the mermaids sing a beautiful somg then the ships are headed for the island. One ship turns in time but the other two hit the island. The men jump from from the ship into the water but non of hem can swim. Many of them die and only a few survive. The ones that survied were mad at the mermaids and told them to get away and that if they ever came near them they would kill them with rocks or the sphere a man had made. Cecilia Came to the surface of the water and cried for help. She and her sisters had swam to and octopus wich had one of the dead men that had jumped from the ship. Serina then brought the man to shore then Cecilia climed on land and layed the dead body a shore. The men were furious and strted to throw rocks at her and within seconds she was dead. Serina then swam away out in to the ocean.
My prediction is that Serina will get hurt and or won't be able to find her way back home.

Who: Mermaid sisters
What: The mermaids want to find a human man to fall in love. There were two ships that recked on the island and many of the men died.
When: Back when Greek gods and godesses were in.
Where: Anthemoessa
Why: Men wanted to meet the mermaids and then their ships wrecked and many of the men jumped the ship but many of them died because they could not swim.

Serina is on the island of Lemnos. The man that was left on the island wa trying to find food and to figure out who brought him the food the night before. Serina then brought him more food and an lobster that was still living.
I predict that the lobster will attack the man and the man will have to fight the lobster.

The man fought the lobster. He killed it then cooked it on a fire until it was good enough to eat. As the man cooked the lobster he was trying to figure out who brought him the food and, why? He suddenly glimpsed out into the open blue water and saw Serina. He started to talk to her trying to convince her to come to land and talk to him.
I predict that Serina will go little by little to the shore off the island and talk to the man. I think she will like the man and will talk to him for hours.

Character
The main character in my story is Serina. Serina is adventurous, brave, helpful, quiet, shy, impatient, kind, and is a leader. her major goal is to fall in love with a human man.
Serina is as adventurous as a fish
swimmimg the ocean alone. Serina has long sholder length brown, wave like hair.
Her tail is a soft blue with a tint of green in it. Serina has smooth skin with a light tan.
Serina has many likes and dislikes. Some of her likes are the ocean, her sisters, mother Dora's grotto, the island of Lemnos, and the man on Lemnos. Some of her dislikes are ships, the men on Anthemoessa, squid, and Hera's serphants.
Serina wears many mermaid like things. She wears starfish in her hair and necklaces of pearls or mussel shells.
Serina's greatest strenght is swimming and her greatest weakness is falling in love.her favorite place to go and to be is the island of Lemnos.

BOOK REVIEW
Sirena
Donna Jo Napoli
In the book Sirena, Donna Jo Napoli takes advanced readers into the world of ancient Greece, onto the mythical rocks of Anthemoessa. In this time period the Greeks believed in many gods and goddesses. Such as Hades, Hera, and Zeus. They always told stories about them and believed they had many important powers. Sirena a very shy, but adventurous mermaid finds herself in trouble when she finds out she must fall in love with a human man. Sirena finds a man on the island of Lemnos and they fall in love but, unfortunately, Sirena must overcome many obstacles.
The mythical rocks of Anthemoessa are located out in the Aegean Sea. (This is a mythical story) The mermaids live together in this safe environment. They honor the gods and believe that what ever happens on Earth is because of the powerful Zeus and his children.
Sirena is the brave mermaid out of her nine sisters. She always swims away from Anthemoessa. She leaves looking for adventure and happiness. Sirena never knows what is in store for her. Sirena’s actions throughout the story would be believable if mermaids weren’t mythical creatures. For example, in the book Donna Jo Napoli talks about how Sirena sails through the water with her fin. This is not believable because mermaids are not real living creatures.
In conclusion this book was a suspenseful book but it had a disappointing ending. I would want the story to keep going at least five or six more chapters. In my opinion the book Sirena was a very disappointing book.
